Renters:

To rent one of our properties, you will need:

  1. Clear credit history
  2. Verification of employment and current W2s
  3. Good landlord references
  4. Income equal to three times the monthly rental amount
  5. All applications are processed by a vendor called RentSpree.  Please ask the agent showing you the property for the QR code to apply for the property you are intered in.  
  6. All applicants must register at https://maryloverealty.petscreening.com.  Pet Screening is a third party vendor that is very knowledable with all HUD guidelines.  Please register in one of the trhee categories; Pet, NO Pet or Service or Assistive Animal.  Your application will not be considered complete until your petscreening profile has been submitted.

Self-employed or retired? Be sure to bring the last two (2) year’s tax returns and other proof of income with you.

Current Rental Trends:

For the past three years, the residential rental market in the Kona area of the Big Island has been very tight with rents rising quickly.

Rental inventory has been reduced by both in-migration from the mainland and by a brisk sales market which has depleted rental inventory. Rentals in the Hilo area have remained stable and generally rent at somewhat lower rates than the west side locations.
